The polyps are small and remain visible during the day, giving the colony a textured, bumpy appearance. The colour separation between the blue base and gold polyps is clean, creating a pattern that stands out well under both blue and full-spectrum lighting.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor care, this coral prefers lower to moderate light levels, somewhere in the 75-150 PAR range. Place it on the rockwork in the lower to middle sections of the tank where it receives moderate, indirect water flow. While it gets most of its nutrition from its symbiotic algae, it will respond well to occasional feedings of small particle coral foods. Like all SPS, it requires stable water parameters, with calcium at 420-440 ppm, alkalinity at 8-9 dKH, and magnesium between 1300-1400 ppm. It has short sweeper tentacles, so leave a few centimetres between it and its neighbours.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003egreat species for adding colour to the lower light areas of a reef, where some other SPS might not thrive. Its steady encrusting growth can fill in bare spots on live rock, creating a very natural and mature look over time.
