Over time, it will grow into a large colony with a distinctive mounding shape. At night, Favia corals extend their feeder tentacles, which can be quite long, so it's best to give them a bit of room. Favia corals are not demanding about flow, but they do best in moderate, indirect water movement. They can be placed on the sandbed or on lower to mid-level rockwork. While photosynthetic, they benefit from occasional spot feeding with mysis shrimp or other small meaty foods. Keep calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium levels stable to support skeletal growth.
