The tentacles are the main feature, gently swaying in the current and creating a dynamic focal point. These polyps are a rich gold, and under good lighting they seem to have their own internal luminescence. The central mouth of each polyp is often a contrasting shade, sometimes with a hint of green.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor best health, the Gold Torch needs stable conditions. It prefers moderate lighting, with PAR levels around 100-200, so a mid-level placement on the rockwork is ideal. Water flow should be indirect and moderate—enough to create that classic gentle sway, but not so strong that the polyps stay retracted. While photosynthetic, it benefits from occasional feedings of small meaty foods. Like other LPS, it consumes calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium to build its skeleton, so keep parameters stable: Ca at 420-440 ppm, Alk at 8-9 dKH, and Mg at 1300-1400 ppm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBe mindful of its sweeper tentacles. A torch coral can be surprisingly aggressive towards its neighbours, so give it plenty of space to expand without stinging other corals. A gap of at least 15-20cm is a safe starting point.
