mint-green-frammer-coral
Mint Green Frammer Coral

The Frammer is a classic large polyp stony coral in the reef aquarium hobby. As a member of the Fimbriaphyllia genus, it's known for its long, graceful tentacles and constant motion. This particular Frammer is a pleasant green, showing the intermediate characteristics between its Hammer and Frogspawn parentage.

In a home reef, a Frammer coral displays a branching growth form, building a new skeleton over time. Its polyps have tentacles that are neither fully hammer-shaped nor distinctly dotted like a frogspawn, but a unique blend of the two. They extend throughout the day, creating a soft, flowing presence that adds a lot of life to a reef scape. The movement is gentle and responsive to water flow.

For care, provide moderate lighting, in the range of 100-150 PAR, and moderate, indirect water flow. The current should be strong enough to make the tentacles sway without blasting them, which can cause them to retract. Placement in the lower to middle sections of the tank is ideal. While photosynthetic, it will benefit from occasional feedings of small, meaty foods. Like other LPS corals, it requires stable water parameters, including calcium around 420-440 ppm, alkalinity at 8-9 dKH, and magnesium between 1300-1400 ppm. Frammers are aggressive and can produce long sweeper tentacles, so be sure to give them ample space to avoid stinging their neighbours.

This is a WYSIWYG item, so you'll receive the exact specimen pictured.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1849/1739/files/c6270b1e-bb8e-48ff-9804-d8191c94006f-_MG_4451.png?v=1786135288
