They do not appreciate being under intense, direct light. Water flow should be gentle and indirect to prevent tissue damage on its sharp plate-like structure. While it gains much of its energy from photosynthesis, it benefits from occasional spot feeding with small meaty foods after the lights are out. Maintain stable water parameters, including calcium between 420-440 ppm and alkalinity between 8-9 dKH.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOne of the most important aspects of keeping Pectinia is managing its aggression. It is known for producing long, powerful sweeper tentacles at night that can damage or kill other corals they touch.
