These polyps, each ending in a small, distinct mouth, create a living bouquet that sways with the water's current. In this red specimen, the colour is consistent through the entire polyp, offering a solid patch of rich colour that contrasts well with other corals in a mixed reef.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSuccessful Goniopora husbandry hinges on a few key details. They require low to moderate, indirect water flow—enough to gently move the polyps and keep the base clean, but not so strong that it prevents full extension. Placement should be in a low to mid-level area of the tank with moderate lighting, typically in the 75-150 PAR range, as they are sensitive to overly intense light. While photosynthetic, they are heavy feeders and benefit greatly from being target-fed several times a week with amino acids and small-particle coral foods.
