While they come in many color variations, including greens, oranges, and multicolored patterns, this specimen exhibits a rich red coloration.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor best results, Homophyllia australis should be placed on the sandbed or a low rock structure. They require low to moderate lighting, ideally in the 50 to 150 PAR range, as intense light can cause tissue recession. Water flow should also be low to moderate and indirect; strong, direct flow will prevent the polyp from fully expanding and may cause damage. These corals benefit from occasional target feeding with meaty foods like mysis or brine shrimp once or twice a week. Maintain stable water parameters with calcium between 400-450 ppm, alkalinity at 8-12 dKH, and magnesium between 1250-1350 ppm. While not overly aggressive, provide a few inches of space from neighboring corals to prevent tissue damage.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs a relatively slow-growing coral, the Australian Scolymia is a rewarding addition for the patient hobbyist.
