At night, or when feeding, it may extend fine sweeper tentacles, so it's best not to place other corals right up against it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor best care, Trachyphyllia should be placed on the sandbed under low to moderate lighting, generally in the 50 to 150 PAR range. It prefers low, indirect water flow that is just strong enough to keep detritus from settling on its surface without causing the tissue to pull back. While photosynthetic, it benefits from occasional target feeding with meaty foods like mysis or other LPS pellets a couple of times a week. Maintain stable water parameters, including calcium around 420-440 ppm, alkalinity at 8-9 dKH, and magnesium between 1300-1400 ppm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs a sand-dwelling coral, the Folded Brain makes an excellent and straightforward addition to a well-established reef tank.
