table-coral
Table Coral

Table corals, typically representing plating species of Acropora, are legendary centerpieces in the marine aquarium hobby. Renowned for their horizontal, flat-topped growth architecture, they mimic the sweeping reef crests found across pristine tropical shallows. This particular piece measures approximately 8cm and already exhibits the characteristic tiering structure that makes tabling acroporas so sought after by dedicated reef keepers.

As the colony develops, it produces a tightly networked lattice of horizontal branches covered in uniform corallites. Polyps extend during peak feeding times, creating a fuzzy, textured appearance across the upper surfaces of the plate while shade-adapted growth underneath forms a sturdy skeletal base. Colouration remains true to healthy wild-type tabling species, showing refined, natural tones that intensify under balanced full-spectrum reef lighting.

Care requires a fully mature, stable system. These corals thrive under strong lighting delivering roughly 300 to 450 PAR, paired with vigorous, chaotic water flow to prevent detritus from settling on the horizontal plates. Secure placement in the upper levels of the rockwork provides the light intensity and clearance necessary for horizontal spread. Maintain calcium at 420 to 450 ppm, alkalinity stable between 8 and 9 dKH, and magnesium near 1350 ppm. Provide adequate distance from aggressive stinging corals, target feed microplankton occasionally after lights out, and acclimate gradually to your system's lighting schedule.

This is a WYSIWYG item, so you'll receive the exact specimen pictured.

Please note that colours can look slightly different in person than in photos, depending on your lighting and screen, and the size given is an approximate guide measured at the time of listing.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1849/1739/files/98ccc23d-ec0d-4568-be2a-ebd908289396-_MG_5725.jpg?v=1793949265
