Teal & Purple Trachyphyllia sp

This Teal & Purple Trachyphyllia sp. is a beautifully coloured WYSIWYG specimen featuring a deep purple body with a bright teal centre that fluoresces strongly under blue LED lighting. The contrast between the cool centre and darker body gives this coral a striking, elegant appearance ideal for both LPS and mixed reef systems.

This listing is WYSIWYG — the exact coral shown is the one you will receive. The specimen measures approximately 6–7 cm across when not fully expanded.

Care Instructions:

• Lighting: Low to moderate lighting to maintain colouration and avoid bleaching.

• Flow: Low, indirect flow to allow full polyp expansion and prevent tissue stress.

• Placement: Best placed on the sand bed to protect the coral’s soft underside. Avoid sharp or uneven rock surfaces.

• Feeding: Benefits from targeted feedings of mysis shrimp, LPS pellets, and other meaty foods.

• Water Parameters: Keep stable reef parameters (Alkalinity 8–9 dKH, Calcium 420–450 ppm, Magnesium 1300–1400 ppm, Nitrate 5–15 ppm, Phosphate 0.03–0.1 ppm).

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
