Description

This Green Chalice coral features a vibrant green coloration that pops under actinic lighting. Its encrusting growth habit and unique texture make it a captivating addition to any reef aquarium. The coral's surface is covered with small, evenly spaced polyps that contribute to its overall iridescent appearance, creating a beautiful focal point in your tank. Chalice corals are known for their striking visual appeal and can grow into impressive colonies over time, providing long-lasting beauty.

Green Chalice corals thrive under moderate PAR levels, ideally between 75-150 PAR. They prefer low to moderate water flow, which helps to keep their surface clean without causing tissue damage. Placement on a lower to mid-level rock work ledge is usually ideal, ensuring they receive adequate light and flow without being blasted. Avoid placing them in direct, high flow areas as this can cause the polyps to retract and the coral to stress. Proper placement will encourage healthy growth and vibrant coloration.

While primarily photosynthetic, Chalice corals benefit from supplemental feeding. Offer finely minced meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, or specialized coral foods a few times a week, especially after the lights have dimmed. Maintain stable water parameters: temperature 75-78ยฐF, salinity 1.025-1.026, alkalinity 8-10 dKH, calcium 400-450 ppm, and magnesium 1300-1400 ppm. Consistent water quality is crucial for their long-term health and vibrant color.

Chalice corals are generally peaceful but can exhibit mild aggression through sweeper tentacles at night. Provide adequate spacing from other corals to prevent chemical warfare or physical stinging. Acclimation should be done slowly using a drip acclimation method over at least an hour to help them adjust to your tank's water parameters. Once settled, they are relatively hardy and rewarding corals for both beginner and experienced reef keepers. Their unique appearance and ease of care make them a great choice for adding diversity to your reef ecosystem.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
