Description
Description
The Red Sea REEFER MAX 170 G3 is a compact reef aquarium package built around a 60 cm-long display. It combines the aquarium, cabinet and sump with the main Red Sea equipment categories, making it an alternative to selecting every component of a small sump-based reef separately.
This listing is the MAX G3 package with ReefATO+, not the newer MAX G3+ configuration. It includes an EMA Livestock Voucher valued at NZ$617.
Who is the MAX 170 suited to?
The compact footprint suits a focused reef where floor space is limited. Its 128 L display is best planned with restraint: leave room around the rockwork for cleaning, coral growth and water movement rather than filling the aquarium at setup.
System specifications
| Nominal total / display / sump volume | 165 L / 128 L / 37 L |
|---|---|
| Display, length × width × height | 60 × 50 × 51 cm |
| Overall height, excluding lighting | 137 cm |
| G3 display construction | Rimless ultra-clear glass |
| Cabinet finish | Black or White |
| Slide-out control panel | Not included |
Water volumes are nominal. Rock, sand and operating levels affect the actual water volume.
Package contents
- REEFER 170 G3 aquarium, cabinet, sump and plumbing with gate-valve drain adjustment.
- ReefLED G2 lighting and Red Sea mounting system.
- ReefRun G2 DC return pump and Red Sea smart circulation equipment.
- ReefMat roller filter and REEFER DC protein skimmer.
- ReefATO+ automatic top-off with temperature monitoring and leak detection.
Confirm the exact equipment models, quantities, mounts and required controllers in an itemised quotation before purchase. The equipment categories above are not a model-by-model parts list.
What you still need to plan
The bundle does not include livestock, rock, sand or salt. Allow separately for a heater, water preparation, testing and any dosing equipment. The aquarium needs assembly, equipment setup and biological cycling before livestock is introduced; an equipment package is not an instantly stocked reef.
Delivery and support
Check the delivery route and leave space above the sump for servicing. Contact EasternMarine Aquariums to confirm availability, freight, voucher redemption terms and applicable New Zealand warranty and registration requirements.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
