Description
The Red Sea REEFER DC 600 protein skimmer is an adjustable in-sump skimmer for reefkeepers who want more control over foam production and day-to-day operation. Its Sicce DC pump works with Red Sea's sensor system and ReefBeat to help manage changing skimming conditions.
A ReefRun Dual DC Pump Controller is required and sold separately. Check controller availability before purchasing the skimmer on its own.
Which aquarium does it suit?
Red Sea's published ratings are up to 600 L for an SPS reef, 1,200 L for a mixed reef and 1,800 L for a fish-only system. Choose the rating that reflects your intended stocking and feeding; the highest number is not the appropriate recommendation for every reef.
Adjustable skimming with sensor assistance
The self-levelling function responds to overly wet foam by reducing pump intensity and then adjusting back towards stable operation. A sensor in the collection cup helps manage a rising skimmate level. Regular cup, neck and sensor cleaning is still essential; these functions are not a guarantee against every overflow.

Included and installation checks
This is a complete DC 600 skimmer with pump, collection cup and sensor system, not the upgrade kit for an existing skimmer. The controller is not included. Check the manufacturer's orientation drawing against your sump compartment and allow extra clearance above the 56 cm body for collection-cup removal.
Maintain the specified sump water depth and clean the air intake, neck and sensors routinely. A stable installation and appropriate settings are as important as the capacity rating.
