Description
Description
The Torch Coral, Euphyllia glabrescens, is a popular Large Polyp Stony (LPS) coral that brings a unique sense of motion to any reef aquarium. Its long, flowing tentacles provide a visual appeal that few other corals can match, creating a dynamic centerpiece as they sway in the current. This species is a classic in the reef-keeping hobby for good reason.
Gold Torch Corals are distinguished by their vibrant coloration. They possess long, graceful tentacles that are typically a bright gold or deep yellow hue, often tipped with a contrasting color. These polyps extend from a branching calcified base, and as the colony grows, it forms an impressive structure. The continuous movement of its polyps makes it a very active-looking addition to a reef tank.
For best health, a Gold Torch Coral requires moderate lighting, with a PAR range between 75 and 150 being ideal. It prefers moderate, intermittent water flow, which allows its tentacles to sway gently without being damaged or retracted. Place the coral in the lower to middle section of the tank, ensuring it has plenty of room to expand. Torch corals are aggressive and can extend long sweeper tentacles; maintain at least 6-8 inches of space from other corals. While photosynthetic, they benefit from weekly target feeding of mysis shrimp or other meaty foods. Maintain stable water parameters, with calcium at 400-450 ppm, alkalinity at 8-12 dKH, and magnesium at 1250-1350 ppm. Slow drip acclimation is recommended when introducing it to your aquarium.
A Gold Torch Coral is an excellent choice for hobbyists looking to add vibrant color and graceful movement to their aquarium. Its active presence and bright appearance make it a rewarding species to keep and a focal point in a well-maintained reef.

Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
