Description
This stunning Gold Torch Coral features long, flowing polyps with vibrant gold bodies and bright blue or purple tips, creating a dynamic and eye-catching display in any reef aquarium. Its elegant movement in the current adds a mesmerizing quality to your aquatic landscape. This coral is a beautiful centerpiece or a striking addition to a mixed reef tank. Its unique coloration brings a touch of luxury to your underwater world. This specific torch coral is very healthy and ready for its new home. It has been properly quarantined and inspected for any imperfections to ensure it provides many years of joy to its new owners.
Torch corals thrive under moderate to high PAR (100-250) but can adapt to lower light conditions if acclimated slowly. They prefer moderate to strong, indirect water flow that allows their polyps to extend fully and sway gently without being blasted. Placement in the middle to upper regions of the tank allows for optimal light and flow exposure. Its movement in the current is very important to keep it clean and healthy. Torch corals are photosynthetic coral and utilize their zooxanthellae to produce food, but they also benefit from supplemental feeding of meaty foods like mysis shrimp or copepods a few times a week, ensuring robust growth and vibrant coloration.
Maintaining stable water parameters is crucial for the health of your Torch Coral. Recommended parameters include Salinity: 1.025-1.026 specific gravity, Alkalinity: 8-10 dKH, Calcium: 400-450 ppm, Magnesium: 1300-1400 ppm, and Nitrates: <10 ppm. Keep phosphates as low as possible. Use a high-quality salt mix and perform regular water changes to maintain these levels. Proper acclimation to your tank is essential; a drip acclimation for 30-60 minutes is recommended to gradually introduce the coral to your water parameters.
Torch corals can be aggressive due to their long sweeping tentacles, which can sting neighboring corals. Provide ample space (at least 6 inches) between the Torch Coral and other corals to prevent chemical warfare and tissue damage. Place them in an area where their tentacles will not come into contact with other inhabitants. This coral will require a slow and careful acclimation to ensure it thrives in your aquarium. Use proper procedures for dipping and slow introduction to reduce stress. Once acclimated, this Torch Coral will become a prized specimen in your reef.
This Gold Torch Coral is a fantastic choice for both intermediate and experienced reef keepers looking to add movement, color, and elegance to their aquarium. Its relatively straightforward care requirements, combined with its stunning appearance and growth potential, make it a rewarding addition. With proper care and placement, this coral will flourish and become a vibrant focal point, enhancing the beauty and diversity of your reef ecosystem. Its long, flowing polyps create a captivating display that will mesmerize all who view it, making it a truly exceptional coral for any reef enthusiast. Addict. With a stable clean environment and the appropriate attention, this coral can thrive for many years.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
