Their diverse forms and potential for vibrant colouration make them highly sought after by aquarists looking to create a dynamic and thriving reef scape. This particular specimen measures approximately 9cm. An Acropora sp. can be a very rewarding addition for those ready to provide the specific care these corals thrive on. A beautiful piece like this sets a solid foundation for growth. Some Acropora have relatively thin branches, while others have thicker, more robust structures. The polyps are typically small and extend from the coral’s skeleton, often displaying contrasting hues against the main body of the coral. The colouration of this Acropora sp. is subtle, allowing it to blend well into various aquascapes while still offering visual interest as it grows and colours up. This piece is hardy and healthy, ready to grow. Acropora corals demand stable and pristine water parameters to truly flourish. They require high PAR lighting, typically between 250-400 PAR, to maintain their intricate structures and develop good colouration. Strong, turbulent, and indirect water flow is essential to prevent detritus buildup and ensure adequate gas exchange and nutrient delivery to all polyps. When placing an Acropora, consider a mid to upper rock work position where it will receive ample light and flow. Calcium should be maintained at 400-450 ppm, alkalinity at 7.5-9 dKH, and magnesium at 1300-1400 ppm. Consistent feeding with specialised SPS coral foods or amino acids can also support their growth. Acropora are generally peaceful but need space to grow, so ensure they have room away from other corals to prevent stinging. Acclimation should be gradual, allowing the coral to adjust to your tank’s specific lighting and flow over several days.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
