Description
Description
Alveopora, often called Daisy Coral, is a beautiful large polyp stony (LPS) coral recognised for its long, delicate polyps that sway gracefully in the current. These corals are widely appreciated in the reef-keeping hobby for their unique aesthetic and generally peaceful nature. This piece is a fragment, offering a great starting point for aquarists. We offer this beautiful species for sale as a striking addition to any mixed reef environment.
Each Alveopora polyp has 12 tentacles, giving them a distinct feathery appearance. When fully extended, their polyps create a soft, flower-like texture, varying from subtle earthy tones to brighter shades that will catch the light. They can form branching or sometimes encrusting colonies, and their movement adds a dynamic element to the aquascape.
Alveopora corals thrive under moderate lighting, typically around 100-200 PAR, but can adapt to a wider range. They prefer moderate, indirect water flow that allows their polyps to sway gently without being blasted. Placement in the lower to mid-water column on stable rockwork or sand is usually suitable. They are primarily photosynthetic, but target feeding with fine planktonic foods or coral-specific preparations several times a week can enhance growth and health. Maintain stable water parameters: Calcium 400-440 ppm, Alkalinity 8-10 dKH, Magnesium 1300-1400 ppm, and Salinity 1.025. Ensure adequate spacing from aggressive corals, as Alveopora is peaceful and can be stung.
Alveopora makes an excellent focal point or a soft, flowing texture among more rigid corals, adding a natural, garden-like feel to the reef.
This is not a WYSIWYG listing; you'll receive a specimen of the same species with similar size and colouration to the one pictured, hand-picked for health and colour.
Please note that colours can look slightly different in person than in photos, depending on your lighting and screen, and the size given is an approximate guide measured at the time of listing.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
