Description
Description
This beautiful Blue Hammer Coral features striking blue polyps with dark, contrasting stalks that create a mesmerizing display in any reef aquarium. Its elegant, flowing tentacles add movement and vibrant color, making it a focal point for both new and experienced aquarists. This coral is a visual delight, sure to enhance the aesthetic appeal of your tank. Ensure ample space around this coral as it can extend its sweeper tentacles.
Hammer corals thrive under moderate PAR (100-250) and moderate, indirect water flow. Placement on the sandbed or securely attached to rockwork in the middle to lower regions of your tank is ideal. They are predominantly photosynthetic but will benefit from supplemental feedings of meaty foods like mysis shrimp or copepods a few times a week, especially smaller frags. Maintain stable water parameters: alkalinity 8-10 dKH, calcium 400-450 ppm, and magnesium 1300-1400 ppm, with a salinity of 1.025-1.026.
Acclimation should be done using the drip method over 30-60 minutes to minimize stress. Hammer corals are semi-aggressive; keep them away from other corals to prevent stinging.
This coral is an excellent choice for adding both dynamic beauty and a touch of the ocean's mystery to your home aquarium. Its relatively easy care requirements, combined with its stunning appearance, make it a rewarding addition for hobbyists looking to add a captivating, long-lived specimen to their reef. Witness the mesmerizing sway of its polyps as it filters nutrients from the water, contributing to a vibrant and healthy ecosystem in your tank.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
