Description
The Blue Striped Clownfish is also known as the Orangefin Anemonefish. It has a brownish orange base color with white stripes and an orange forehead when full grown. The Blue Striped Clownfish gets its namesake from the brilliant white markings which overlay the pigment from the body color beneath which give the stripes a blue sheen or hue. The juvenile Blue Striped Clownfish are yellowish orange in color with white stripes on each side of the body similar to the Clarkii Clownfish.
The Blue Striped Clownfish is one of the hardiest and largest clownfish in home aquariums. Adult female Blue Striped Clownfish can grow to 7” in optimal conditions. Therefore, a 50 gallon or larger aquarium containing almost any anemone type is desirable. It is semi-aggressive towards other clownfish and passive tank mates. The Blue Striped Clownfish diet consists of almost any meaty food items and herbivore preparations.
