Chalice Coral (Echinophyllia sp.) – WYSIWYG – Approx. 12 cm

This Chalice Coral is a large 12 cm WYSIWYG specimen displaying bold colouration and sweeping plate-like growth, making it a standout showpiece for any reef aquarium. Chalice corals are well known for their intense fluorescence, unique textures, and striking patterns that glow brilliantly under blue LED lighting. Their low, encrusting growth form makes them ideal for open rock faces or sandbed placement.

Care Instructions:

• Lighting: Low to moderate LED lighting for best colour and growth. Too much light can cause fading.

• Flow: Low to moderate, indirect flow to avoid tissue irritation.

• Placement: Ideal on the sand bed or a flat rock surface. Allow space for growth.

• Feeding: Benefits from occasional feeding of Reef Roids, powdered foods, or small meaty foods.

• Water Parameters: Maintain stable reef parameters (Alk 8–9 dKH, Ca 420–450 ppm, Mg 1300–1400 ppm, NO₃ 5–15 ppm, PO₄ 0.03–0.1 ppm).

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
