Description

This Acan Lord, also known as an Acanthastrea lordhowensis, boasts a striking coloration with a vibrant green rim transitioning into a captivating red and purple center. Its corrugated surface adds an interesting texture, making it a focal point in any reef aquarium. These corals are truly mesmerizing and will bring a splash of color to your tank.

Caring for your Acan Lord is relatively straightforward. They thrive under moderate PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) levels, ideally between 75-150. Moderate, indirect flow is preferred to prevent tissue recession. Place them in the lower to middle sections of your aquascape. Regular feeding of meaty foods like mysis shrimp or target feeding with coral specific foods will promote faster growth and vibrant coloration. Maintain stable water parameters: alkalinity 8-12 dKH, calcium 400-450 ppm, and magnesium 1250-1350 ppm, with a specific gravity of 1.025.

Acan Lords are generally peaceful but can be aggressive towards other corals if they come into direct contact. Ensure adequate spacing between your Acan Lord and neighboring corals to prevent stinging. When introducing your new coral, use the drip acclimation method for at least 30 minutes to an hour to minimize stress and allow it to adjust to your tank's water parameters gradually.

Adding a Green Red Acan Lord to your reef tank is an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced hobbyists looking for a hardy and brilliantly colored LPS coral. Its unique patterns and ease of care make it a rewarding addition that will undoubtedly enhance the beauty of your aquatic environment. Its vibrant hues provide a strong contrast against other corals and live rock.

Please note: This is not a WYSIWYG item. You will receive a coral of the same species and similar quality, but the exact specimen may vary.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.

Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
