Description
The Acan Lord, Micromussa lordhowensis, is a classic large-polyp stony coral that has been a long-time favourite in the reef-keeping hobby. They are known for their fleshy, circular polyps and distinct colour patterns. This particular specimen presents a deep green base colouration, a common and popular variation for this species in home aquariums. Its ease of care makes it a great choice for both new and experienced reef keepers. Acan Lords grow by budding new polyps around the outer edge, gradually forming a dense colony. The polyps themselves are quite expressive; they will inflate substantially when happy and extend short feeding tentacles at night or when they sense food in the water. The surface of each polyp has a texture that can range from smooth to slightly bumpy, with this green specimen showing well-defined lines. In a home reef, Acan Lords are not overly demanding. They do best under low to moderate lighting, somewhere in the 75 to 150 PAR range, as intense light can cause the colours to fade. They prefer low to moderate, indirect water flow which is just enough to keep the polyps free of detritus but not so strong that it prevents them from fully expanding. Placement is best on the sandbed or on a low-lying rock structure. They are active feeders and will readily accept mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and various pellet foods. For long-term health, maintain stable water parameters with calcium around 400-440 ppm, alkalinity at 8-12 dKH, and magnesium between 1300-1400 ppm. While not overly aggressive, it's wise to give them about 10cm of space from other corals, as they can extend sweeper tentacles at night. Acan Lords are a peaceful and generally predictable addition to a mixed reef. Their contained growth form and modest lighting needs mean they can be placed in a variety of spots without interfering with more light-demanding SPS corals higher up in the rockwork. They are a good neighbour for most other LPS, soft corals, and non-aggressive fish. Their straightforward care and steady growth offer a rewarding experience over time.

Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
