Description
Description
This Green Acropora is a stunning addition to any reef aquarium, showcasing vibrant green branches with delicate individual polyps. The intricate branching structure provides excellent visual interest and depth to your aquascape. Its bright coloration makes it a standout piece that will catch the eye. This particular coral is WYSIWYG, meaning you will receive the exact piece pictured, ensuring no surprises and complete satisfaction. This coral is well-encrusted and has encrusting growth present on all cuts. This indicates a very healthy and stable coral that has been growing in captivity for some time.
Acropora corals thrive under high PAR lighting, ideally between 250-450 PAR. Provide strong, turbulent water flow to keep the coral clean and deliver essential nutrients. Optimal placement for this coral is typically in the upper to middle sections of the rockwork where it can receive ample light and flow. Ensure there is enough space around the coral for future growth, as Acropora can grow quite large and branch extensively.
While primarily photosynthetic, Acropora will benefit from supplemental feeding. Offer small particulate foods such as zooplankton or a high-quality coral food a few times a week. Maintain stable water parameters: Alkalinity 8-9 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, Magnesium 1300-1400 ppm, and Salinity 1.025-1.026. Consistent parameters are crucial for the health and vibrant coloration of Acropora. Gradual acclimation using the drip method over several hours is recommended.
Acropora corals are generally peaceful but can be aggressive towards other corals if they come into direct contact. Ensure adequate spacing between this Acropora and other corals to prevent stinging. Regularly monitor for pests, especially Acropora Eating Flatworms (AEFW) and Red Bug copepods. Dipping new corals before introduction to your display tank is highly recommended as a preventive measure. Quarantining new additions for a minimum of 30 days is best practice to avoid introducing any pests to an established tank.
Adding this Green Acropora to your reef tank will elevate its beauty and biodiversity. Its striking appearance and the challenge of maintaining an SPS coral make it a rewarding experience for intermediate to advanced reef keepers. With proper care and stable conditions, this Acropora will flourish, becoming a magnificent centerpiece and a testament to the health of your reef system. It is a fantastic opportunity to add a hardy and beautiful piece of living art to your aquatic display.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
