Description
Description
The Green Cyphastrea coral features a vibrant green coloration with a unique bumpy texture that adds visual interest to any reef aquarium. Its encrusting growth habit can spread across rockwork, creating a beautiful carpet of green.
This coral thrives in moderate to high PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) lighting, around 150-250 PAR. Moderate water flow is ideal, providing enough movement to keep detritus from settling without being overly strong. Place it on the mid to lower sections of your rockwork where it can encrust. While it can capture some nutrients from the water column, supplemental feeding with fine coral foods can encourage faster growth and more vibrant coloration.
Maintain stable water parameters for optimal health: Salinity 1.025-1.026, Alkalinity 8-9 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, Magnesium 1300-1400 ppm, and Nitrates 5-10 ppm with Phosphates near undetectable levels. Cyphastrea corals are generally peaceful but should be given adequate space to grow without encroaching on more aggressive corals. Acclimation should be slow and steady, typically involving drip acclimation over an hour or more.
The Green Cyphastrea is an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced reef keepers. Its hardiness and relatively fast growth rate make it a rewarding coral to cultivate. Its low-profile encrusting form can fill in gaps and add depth to your aquascape, providing a striking contrast to other coral types.
Adding this Green Cyphastrea to your tank will introduce a captivating splash of color and unique texture. Its ease of care and adaptability make it a fantastic focal point, enhancing the overall aesthetic and biodiversity of your marine environment. Watch it slowly spread its vibrant green across your rocks, creating a lush underwater garden.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
