Description
Description
This Green Eye Goniastrea features a captivating dark purple base with striking neon green polyps that resemble glowing eyes. The unique coloration and intricate growth pattern make it a true centerpiece for any reef aquarium. This coral will add a vibrant and dynamic focal point to your tank.
To thrive, the Green Eye Goniastrea requires moderate PAR levels (80-150 PAR) and moderate, indirect water flow. A placement in the lower to middle section of your aquarium will typically provide the ideal conditions. Ensure proper water parameters are maintained: Temperature 74-78F, Salinity 1.025-1.026, Alkalinity 8-10 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, and Magnesium 1300-1400 ppm.
While this Goniastrea is primarily photosynthetic, it will greatly benefit from supplemental feeding of fine particulate foods such as zooplankton or marine snow. Feed 1-2 times per week, turning off flow during feeding to allow polyps to capture food. This coral can be aggressive, so provide adequate spacing from other corals to prevent stinging.
Acclimation should be done slowly using the drip method over a period of 60-90 minutes to minimize stress. Observe new additions closely for several days, ensuring they extend polyps and appear healthy. Regular water changes and stable water chemistry are crucial for its long-term health and vibrant coloration.
This Green Eye Goniastrea is an excellent choice for intermediate to advanced reef keepers looking for a visually stunning and rewarding coral. Its intense coloration and interesting texture will create an eye-catching display, contributing to a diverse and beautiful reef environment. Its resilience and striking appearance make it a highly desirable addition.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
