Description

Trachyphyllia sp. – WYSIWYG (Approx. 8 cm)

This Trachyphyllia sp. is a premium, large-polyp LPS coral prized for its dramatic fleshy texture and vibrant, flowing colouration. Known for its full, inflated appearance and striking patterns, Trachyphyllia makes an exceptional centrepiece in any reef aquarium. Under blue lighting, its colours intensify, showing off deep contrasts and bright highlights.

This listing is WYSIWYG — the exact coral shown in the photos is the one you will receive. The specimen measures approximately 8 cm across when not fully expanded.

Care Instructions:

  • Lighting: Low to moderate lighting to maintain strong colouration and prevent bleaching.

  • Flow: Low, indirect flow. Too much flow can irritate the coral and prevent proper inflation.

  • Placement: Best placed on the sand bed to protect its soft underside. Avoid sharp or uneven rock surfaces.

  • Feeding: Benefits from targeted feedings of mysis shrimp, LPS pellets, and other meaty foods for improved growth and colour.

  • Water Parameters: Maintain stable reef conditions (Alkalinity 8–9 dKH, Calcium 420–450 ppm, Magnesium 1300–1400 ppm, Nitrate 5–15 ppm, Phosphate 0.03–0.1 ppm).

Why This Coral Is a Great Choice:

  • Intensely coloured, fleshy polyp structure that adds instant visual impact.

  • One of the most striking and sought-after LPS species.

  • Hardy and forgiving once settled.

  • Ideal centrepiece coral for nano to large reef systems.

Photo Disclaimer: Colours may vary slightly under different lighting conditions and screen displays, though we photograph all WYSIWYG specimens as accurately as possible.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.

Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
