Green Frogspawn Coral

Green Frogspawn Coral (Euphyllia divisa) is a popular and striking LPS coral known for its vibrant green polyps and elegant, swaying motion in the aquarium. It is a fantastic choice for both novice and experienced reef keepers due to its relatively straightforward care requirements and visual appeal. This piece measures approximately 10cm. Green Frogspawn offers a dynamic aesthetic to any reef display, bringing a lovely burst of colour and movement. An established reef aquarium with stable parameters provides the best environment for this coral to thrive. Its large, flowing polyps capture light and nutrients efficiently. The individual polyps are typically green, often with lighter green tips, and extend from a branching or wall-like skeletal structure. They have a distinct, bubbly, or "frogspawn" appearance, which gives the coral its common name. In good flow, these polyps will gently pulsate, adding a lively element to your tank. For optimal health, Green Frogspawn Coral needs moderate lighting, ideally between 75-150 PAR. It prefers moderate, indirect water flow to keep detritus from settling and to encourage polyp extension without irritating the polyps. A good placement is on the sandbed or lower to mid-level rockwork, ensuring it has ample space around it as it can extend sweeper tentacles at night that will sting neighbouring corals. Regular feeding with zooplankton or small meaty foods a few times a week is beneficial, though not strictly essential for established colonies. Maintain calcium levels between 400-440 ppm, alkalinity at 8-12 dKH, and magnesium between 1250-1350 ppm. When introducing Green Frogspawn, a slow drip acclimation is recommended. Due to its vibrant green colour and graceful movement, the Green Frogspawn Coral fits beautifully into most reef aquascapes, providing a focal point without being overly demanding. It pairs well with a variety of other corals, provided adequate spacing is maintained.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
