Description

This Green Goniopora showcases a vibrant emerald green coloration with long, flowing polyps that create a dynamic and appealing display in any reef aquarium. Its numerous flower-like polyps extend gracefully from the skeletal base, adding intricate texture and movement to your aquascape. Each polyp has 24 tentacles, a distinctive characteristic of the Goniopora genus. The intense green hue will stand out under actinic lighting, becoming a focal point in your tank.

Caring for Green Goniopora involves providing appropriate aquarium conditions. This coral thrives under moderate PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) levels, typically between 75-150 PAR. While it appreciates indirect flow, ensuring detritus does not settle on its polyps, strong direct flow should be avoided as it can cause retraction and stress. Place it on the sand bed or lower rock work where it can fully extend its polyps without being disturbed by other corals or intense light.

Green Goniopora are filter feeders that primarily consume phytoplankton and other small particulate matter from the water column. Regular feeding with marine snow, phytoplankton, and specialized coral foods is highly recommended to maintain their health and vibrant coloration. Target feeding directly to the polyps can also be beneficial. Maintain stable water parameters: Temperature 74-78F, Salinity 1.025-1.026, Alkalinity 8-12 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, Magnesium 1300-1350 ppm, Nitrates 1-10 ppm, and Phosphates 0.02-0.08 ppm.

This coral is generally peaceful but ensure it has adequate space to prevent its sweeping tentacles from irritating neighboring corals. Acclimation should be done slowly using the drip acclimation method over at least an hour to help it adjust to your tank's water parameters.

A Green Goniopora is an excellent choice for reef aquarists looking to add a touch of lush green and graceful movement to their marine setup. Its captivating appearance and moderate care requirements make it rewarding for dedicated hobbyists. With proper attention to feeding and water quality, this coral will thrive and become a stunning centerpiece in your home.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.

Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
