Description
Description
Hammer corals are a cornerstone of the reef aquarium hobby, known for their swaying polyps and distinct anchor-shaped tips. As a member of the Euphyllia genus, it's one of the most recognizable large-polyp stony corals. This particular variety displays classic green tentacles that bring a lively colour and movement to any reef tank.
The Green Hammer Coral typically grows in a branching formation, creating a dense colony over time. Its polyps remain extended throughout the day, gently pulsating with the water's flow. The colour is a consistent green, often complemented by cream or brownish tips on the "hammers," giving it a subtle depth. At night, its polyps retract, revealing the underlying skeleton.
For care, provide moderate lighting, with PAR levels in the 100-150 range. The flow should be low to moderate and indirect, enough to create a gentle sway without battering the polyps. Placement in the middle of the tank is usually ideal. While photosynthetic, it benefits from supplemental feeding once or twice a week with meaty foods like mysis or other coral preparations. Keep water parameters stable, with calcium around 400-450 ppm and alkalinity between 8-12 dKH. Be sure to give it space, as its sweeper tentacles can extend and sting nearby corals.
The graceful movement of a hammer coral adds a special kind of energy to a reef. It’s a rewarding coral for hobbyists with a stable system, and it contrasts well with other LPS corals or stands out on its own. With proper care, it grows steadily and can become a central piece in a mixed reef.

Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
