Description
Description
This Green Hammer Coral boasts a vibrant green coloration on its hammer-shaped polyps, creating a stunning visual display in any reef aquarium. Its flowing tentacles add dynamic movement and texture to your aquascape, making it a captivating focal point. These corals often have striking contrasting tips, adding to their allure.
Hammer corals thrive under moderate PAR levels, ideally between 75-150. Too much light can cause them to recede, while too little can lead to paling. They prefer moderate, indirect water flow to help keep their polyps extended and free of detritus without causing them to retract. Placement on a stable rock structure in the middle to lower regions of your tank is generally recommended. While primarily photosynthetic, supplemental feeding of small meaty foods like mysis shrimp or copepods a few times a week can enhance growth and vibrancy.
Maintain stable water parameters for optimal health: temperature 72-78°F, salinity 1.025-1.026, alkalinity 8-12 dKH, calcium 400-450 ppm, and magnesium 1300-1400 ppm. Hammer corals can be aggressive towards other corals due to their sweeper tentacles, which can extend several inches at night. Ensure adequate spacing from other corals to prevent stinging. Acclimate new corals slowly using the drip acclimation method for at least 30-60 minutes to minimize stress.
Adding a Green Hammer Coral to your reef tank brings an explosion of color and mesmerizing movement. Its relatively easy care requirements make it an excellent choice for both intermediate and experienced reef keepers looking to add a show-stopping pieza to their collection. With proper care and placement, this coral will flourish and become a highlight of your underwater world.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
