Description
This Green Maze Brain Coral displays a captivating labyrinthine structure with vibrant green valleys and often contrasting purple or blue peaks. Its intricate folds and bright coloration make it a stunning focal point in any reef aquarium. The coral's fleshy polyps extend during feeding, further enhancing its dynamic appearance. This hardy LPS coral grows into a solid, visually interesting colony that adds depth and texture to your aquascape. Its unique growth pattern mimics a brain, giving it its common name. This specific specimen is WYSIWYG, meaning you receive the exact coral pictured, ensuring its stunning colors are precisely what you expect. It arrives as a fully conditioned and healthy piece ready for acclimation. We take great care in packaging and shipping to minimize stress. Upon arrival, acclimate slowly using a drip acclimation method over an hour to an hour and a half, matching temperature and water parameters before introduction to your display tank. This gentle process helps the coral adjust to its new environment and reduces shock. Providing a calm and stable introduction will ensure the best start for your new coral. The Green Maze Brain Coral thrives under moderate PAR (100-200) lighting. Too intense lighting can cause bleaching, while insufficient light may lead to dull coloration and poor health. A moderate flow is ideal, allowing detritus to be swept away but not so strong that it causes the polyps to retract constantly. Place this coral on the sandbed or a lower rock work position, ensuring it has ample space to grow without touching other corals due to its potential for aggression. This placement also allows for optimal light and flow conditions. Its sturdy skeletal structure allows for secure placement in various aquascapes. This coral is predominantly photosynthetic, benefiting from the light provided by your aquarium's lighting system. However, it will readily accept supplemental feeding of finely chopped meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, or specialized coral foods, especially when polyps are extended at night. Target feeding a few times a week can significantly boost growth and overall vitality. Proper nutrition is key to vibrant colors and robust health. Maintain stable water parameters: Temperature 74-78ยฐF, Salinity 1.024-1.026, Alkalinity 8-12 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, Magnesium 1250-1350 ppm. These parameters support healthy skeletal growth and tissue development. While generally peaceful, Maze Brain Corals can extend sweeper tentacles at night, potentially stinging neighboring corals. Provide adequate spacing from other corals to prevent aggression and ensure both the Maze Brain and its neighbors thrive. Avoid placing it directly next to more sensitive corals. This beautiful Green Maze Brain Coral offers a captivating display with its unique structure and vibrant coloration, making it an excellent addition for both beginner and experienced reef keepers. Its relatively undemanding care requirements, coupled with its striking appearance, ensure it will be a standout piece in your aquarium. Its hardiness and ability to thrive in a well-maintained system guarantee years of enjoyment. Adding this coral will introduce a dynamic element of color and texture, enhancing the overall biodiversity and visual appeal of your reef environment. Enjoy the mesmerizing patterns and the peaceful, steady growth it brings to your underwater world. It is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to add a resilient and visually stunning LPS coral to their collection, providing a lush, natural aesthetic to your aquarium. This coral will quickly become a favorite in your tank. Once acclimated, it will rapidly settle in and begin to showcase its full splendor, contributing to a vibrant and thriving reef ecosystem.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
