Green Montipora

Montipora corals thrive under moderate to high PAR levels, roughly 200-350 PAR. They prefer strong, indirect water flow to keep their polyps clean and deliver essential nutrients. Place this coral on a stable rock structure where it can receive adequate light and flow, and where it has room to grow without shading other corals. Ensure stable water parameters are maintained, including a temperature of 75-79F, salinity of 1.024-1.026, alkalinity of 8-12 dKH, calcium of 400-450 ppm, and magnesium of 1300-1400 ppm. Supplemental feeding with phytoplankton or coral-specific foods can encourage faster growth and more vibrant coloration.

Montipora corals are generally peaceful but should be given adequate space to prevent overgrowth or stinging from more aggressive corals. Acclimation should be done slowly using a drip acclimation method over at least 1-2 hours to minimize stress. Gradual introduction to intense lighting is also recommended by starting it in a lower light area and moving it up over several weeks.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
