Description

The Green Mushroom Coral is an enduring staple in the marine aquarium hobby, well known for its hardiness and reliable growth. Belonging to the corallimorph family, these soft corals bridge the gap between stony corals and sea anemones. This particular offering features approximately 3+ Polyps, displaying a solid, vibrant green tone that provides a clean, natural contrast against typical live rock.

Each polyp forms a fleshy, flattened oral disc that expands broadly to capture light during the photoperiod. The surface carries a subtle texture with fine radiating patterns extending outward to the margins, all saturated in uniform green pigmentation. They expand fully under low-stress conditions and will lightly cup inward or contract tightly if disturbed or during water changes, quickly relaxing once settled.

Care for green mushrooms is straightforward, making them ideal for both newer tanks and established mixed reefs. They do best under low to moderate lighting, ideally between 50 and 100 PAR, paired with gentle, indirect water movement. Direct, heavy flow should be avoided, as it can cause the polyps to detach from the substrate or fail to open. Place them in the lower sections of the aquarium or directly on the sandbed. While they derive the majority of their energy through symbiotic zooxanthellae, they will readily take occasional small offerings of microplankton or liquid coral foods. Maintain standard reef chemistry with alkalinity at 8 to 9 dKH, calcium between 400 and 450 ppm, and magnesium around 1300 to 1350 ppm. Provide a few centimetres of space between polyps and neighbouring stony corals to prevent minor chemical irritation, and acclimate them gradually using a standard drip method.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.

Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
