Description

The Purple Torch Coral is a stunning addition to any reef aquarium, renowned for its long, flowing tentacles with vibrant purple coloration and contrasting green tips. This magnificent coral provides dynamic movement and a captivating display as its polyps gently sway with the water flow. Its luminous appearance makes it a focal point in any reef scape, adding depth and visual interest with its rich hues.

For optimal health, the Purple Torch Coral requires moderate PAR levels (80-150 PAR) and moderate, indirect water flow. Too much direct flow can cause the polyps to retract or damage the delicate tentacles. Place this coral on the sandbed or securely on the rockwork in the lower to middle sections of your aquarium, ensuring it has ample space away from other corals to prevent stinging. While primarily photosynthetic, supplemental feeding of small meaty foods like mysis shrimp or copepods a few times a week can encourage faster growth and overall vitality. Maintain stable water parameters: alkalinity 8-12 dKH, calcium 400-450 ppm, and magnesium 1250-1350 ppm. Salinity should be maintained between 1.025-1.026 SG and temperature between 74-78°F. Torch corals are moderately aggressive due to their sweeping tentacles, so ensure adequate spacing from neighboring corals.

Acclimation for the Purple Torch Coral should be performed slowly using a drip acclimation method over at least 30-60 minutes to allow it to adjust to your tank's water parameters. After acclimation, ensure good water quality and consistent parameters for successful establishment.

Adding a Purple Torch Coral to your reef tank introduces a mesmerizing blend of color and motion. Its relatively straightforward care requirements, coupled with its striking beauty, make it an excellent choice for both intermediate and experienced reef keepers looking to elevate their aquascape with a truly spectacular coral. Its elegant appearance and graceful movement will transform your aquarium into a vibrant underwater oasis.

Please note: This is not a WYSIWYG item. You will receive a coral of the same species and similar quality, but the exact specimen may vary.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.

Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
