Midus Touch Acropora

The Midus Touch Acropora is a highly sought-after small polyp stony (SPS) coral, celebrated for its unique colouration that brings a distinct warmth to the reef aquarium. This particular Acropora is a well-established classic in the hobby, appreciated by both new and experienced aquarists looking for a standout piece. It is a branching variety that will form a beautiful colony over time. This piece measures approximately 12cm. This Acropora exhibits a rich, golden yellow hue with contrasting tips, giving it a vibrant appearance under proper lighting. Its growth habit is typically arborescent, forming intricate branches that provide shelter and visual interest. The polyps are small and will extend when happy, adding a fine texture to its overall look. Midus Touch Acropora thrive under high lighting conditions, ideally around 300-500 PAR. Strong, turbulent water flow is essential to keep the coral clean and deliver nutrients, preventing detritus from settling between its branches. It should be placed in the upper to mid sections of the rockwork where it can receive ample light and flow. Stable water parameters are crucial for SPS corals; aim for calcium at 420-440 ppm, alkalinity 8-9 dKH, and magnesium 1300-1400 ppm. Target feeding is not strictly necessary as it primarily relies on photosynthesis, but occasional broadcasts of fine coral foods can be beneficial. Give it plenty of space from neighbouring corals as it can be aggressive towards encroaching polyps. Acclimation should be slow and steady to allow it to adjust to your tank's specific conditions. This Acropora's striking golden colour makes it an excellent focal point or a complementary piece in a diverse SPS dominant system, providing a splash of bright colour against other coral textures.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
