Description

The Frammer is a well-known large polyp stony (LPS) coral from the Fimbriaphyllia genus, which also includes the classic Hammer and Frogspawn corals. Hobbyists use the name "Frammer" to describe a coral whose tentacles have features of both, creating a unique appearance that sets it apart. This specimen displays a consistent and even green colouration.

In a home aquarium, the Frammer coral has a branching growth habit, eventually forming a complex structure. The tentacles stay out during the day, and their shape is somewhere between the distinct T-shape of a Hammer and the dotted tips of a Frogspawn. Their gentle, flowing movement in the current is one of the main reasons people keep these corals.

For care, a Frammer does best under moderate lighting conditions, in the range of 100-150 PAR. It prefers low to moderate, indirect water flow that causes the polyps to sway without being flattened against the skeleton. While it gets most of its energy from light, feeding it once a week with small meaty foods can improve its growth rate. Keep in mind that it is an aggressive coral with long sweeper tentacles; it needs a good 15cm of clearance from any downstream neighbours. Standard reef parameters are fine: alkalinity between 8-9 dKH, calcium at 420-440 ppm, and magnesium around 1300-1400.

This coral is a great choice for adding movement and a classic LPS feel to a mixed reef. As long as you give it enough personal space to avoid conflicts with other corals, it integrates well and is a straightforward animal to keep long-term.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.

Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
