Description
This Chalice Coral features a striking green and purple base with bright green eyes, creating a captivating display of color. Its undulating growth form adds visual interest, making it a unique focal point in any reef aquarium. This particular specimen is WYSIWYG, meaning what you see in the photo is exactly what you will receive. This coral is a robust and visually appealing choice for both beginner and experienced reef keepers. This Chalice coral will be an excellent addition and will thrive in your home reef aquarium.
Chalice corals thrive under moderate to low PAR (50-150 PAR) lighting. Too much light can cause bleaching, while too little can lead to a loss of coloration and poor growth. A gentle to moderate, indirect water flow is ideal to prevent detritus from settling on its surface without causing tissue damage. It is best placed on the bottom or middle of the aquarium on a rock structure where it can spread its encrusting or plating growth form.
While primarily photosynthetic, Chalice corals benefit from supplemental feeding. Offer small meaty foods such as target-fed Mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, or other coral-specific frozen foods a few times a week, ideally when its feeding tentacles are extended at night. Maintain stable water parameters: Temperature 75-78°F, Salinity 1.025-1.026, Alkalinity 8-10 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, Magnesium 1300-1400 ppm, and Nitrates 5-10 ppm with Phosphates as close to 0.03 ppm as possible. These parameters are crucial for long-term health and vibrant coloration.
Chalice corals are generally peaceful but can be aggressive with sweeper tentacles that extend at night. Ensure adequate spacing from other corals to prevent chemical warfare or stinging. When acclimating, a drip acclimation method over 1-2 hours is recommended to minimize stress. Place it in an area of the tank with appropriate lighting and flow, and observe for any signs of stress or irritation. This hardy coral will reward you with its unique beauty and growth if its care requirements are met.

Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
