Description

Zoanthids, often called "zoas", are a reef aquarium staple for good reason. They are hardy, grow in satisfying mats of colour, and come in a huge range of patterns. This classic Nuclear Green morph is known for its bright green oral disc and contrasting skirt, making it an easy way to bring a patch of intense colour to the rockwork.

Under typical reef lighting, these Nuclear Green Zoas will have a vibrant green centre that really catches the eye. The outer skirt of the polyp provides a softer, darker contrast that makes the green centre pop. Polyps grow tightly packed together, forming a dense mat over any surface they colonise. They will stay open most of the time but may close up if disturbed or if water conditions stray.

Zoas are generally forgiving, but for best colour and growth, provide moderate lighting, around 100-200 PAR. They prefer moderate, indirect water flow; too much direct flow can prevent them from opening fully. While they get most of their energy from light, they will respond to occasional spot feeding with coral-specific foods. Maintain stable water parameters, including alkalinity between 8-11 dKH, calcium around 400-450 ppm, and magnesium at 1300-1400 ppm. It's important to leave a bit of space between zoanthid colonies and other corals, as they can grow over their neighbours.

These corals are a great fit for almost any reef tank. They add a splash of colour to lower and mid-level rockwork and are generally peaceful, though they can be overgrown by more aggressive corals. They are best kept away from fish known to nip at polyps. When handling any zoanthid, it is wise to wear gloves and eye protection as a precaution against palytoxin.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.

Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
