Description
Description
The Ocellaris Platinum Clownfish is a striking designer clownfish with a predominantly white body, soft orange accents and individual patterning that gives every fish its own character. A selectively bred form of Amphiprion ocellaris, it combines the familiar personality and adaptability of the Ocellaris clownfish with a clean, high-contrast appearance that stands out beautifully in a reef aquarium. For marine aquarium keepers in New Zealand looking for a distinctive feature fish, the Platinum Ocellaris is an excellent choice.
This clownfish is generally considered easy to moderate to care for once properly acclimated and is well suited to established reef and fish-only marine aquariums. Adults typically reach around 8โ11 cm and are best maintained in stable saltwater conditions of approximately 24โ27ยฐC with a specific gravity of 1.023โ1.026. Ocellaris clownfish can be kept singly or as a compatible pair and do not require a host anemone to thrive. Like most clownfish, they can become territorial around a preferred area of the aquarium, particularly as they mature or form a pair.
The Ocellaris Platinum Clownfish is an omnivore and should be offered a varied marine diet including quality pellets or flakes, frozen mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp and other appropriately sized foods. Regular varied feeding supports healthy growth, strong condition and good colour development. Patterning and orange coverage naturally vary between individuals, so each Platinum Clownfish will be visually unique and may differ from representative photographs.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
