Description
Peach hammer corals (Euphyllia paraancora) are a classic large-polyp stony staple in the marine hobby, appreciated for their gentle movement and distinct hammer-shaped tentacle tips. The peach morph offers a softer, warm tonal variation that contrasts neatly against standard green and purple euphylliids. This piece measures approximately 15cm across when fully expanded, providing substantial presence in an established display.
During the day, the fleshy polyps inflate and extend outward from the branching calcified skeleton, swaying readily with water movement. The tentacles display a soft peach hue across the tips and tissue, creating a full canopy that retracts back into the hard skeletal base after lights out or if disturbed. Like all hammer corals, it utilizes symbiotic zooxanthellae for energy while actively capturing suspended particles from the water column.
Care requirements align closely with other Euphyllia species. Position this coral in the lower to middle zone of the tank under moderate lighting of around 80 to 150 PAR, paired with gentle to moderate indirect flow to keep the polyps moving without tearing the tissue against the skeleton. Maintain calcium between 420 and 440 ppm, alkalinity between 8 and 9 dKH, and magnesium near 1300 to 1350 ppm. Weekly target feeding with fine meaty foods such as mysis or enriched brine shrimp supports steady growth. Allow several centimetres of clearance from non-euphylliid neighbours, as its sweeper tentacles will sting delicate corals, and acclimate the colony slowly to both water chemistry and lighting.
This is a WYSIWYG item, so you'll receive the exact specimen pictured.
Please note that colours can look slightly different in person than in photos, depending on your lighting and screen, and the size given is an approximate guide measured at the time of listing.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
