Description
Description
Acropora species are one of the cornerstones of the modern reef aquarium hobby. As small-polyp stony corals, they are known for their intricate branching structures and demanding care requirements. This particular specimen has a distinct gold colouration, a classic variation that adds warmth to a high-energy reef display.
In a home reef, this Acropora will develop a branching colony shape over time. Its growth pattern is largely determined by flow and light conditions. The polyps are small and will extend from the corallites when the coral is feeding or undisturbed. Under the right lighting, the gold tissue can appear quite saturated, especially along the faster-growing tips.
Successful Acropora keeping hinges on stability. This coral requires high light, in the range of 300-500 PAR, so placement in the middle to upper regions of the tank is best. It also needs strong, turbulent water flow to keep its tissues clean and supply nutrients. Maintain calcium between 420-440 ppm, alkalinity at 8-9 dKH, and magnesium between 1300-1400 ppm, with salinity stable at 1.025. While largely photosynthetic, it may benefit from broadcast feeding with a quality SPS food. Due to its potential for fast growth, give it plenty of space to branch out without encroaching on its neighbours. Acclimation should be done slowly, with a gradual ramp-up of light intensity over a couple of weeks to avoid bleaching.
An established Acropora colony becomes a centerpiece, creating a complex habitat for fish and invertebrates. It's a long-term project that signals a truly mature reef system. Providing the right environment will reward the keeper with steady growth for years.

Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
