Pink & Green Acropora sp.

Acropora, a cornerstone of many successful reef tanks, is revered by SPS keepers for its rapid growth and diverse forms. This particular specimen displays both delicate pink and vibrant green colouration, making it a striking addition to a well-established system. It's a classic choice for those looking to cultivate a dynamic and thriving coral display. This piece measures approximately 8cm.

This Acropora will grow into a branching colony with fine, intricate structures. The individual polyps are small and will show excellent extension in good water conditions, adding a soft fuzz to the coral's hard skeleton. Under appropriate lighting, the pink pigments will deepen, complementing the bright green of the colony's body, creating a beautiful contrast.

Like most Acropora, this coral thrives in high PAR lighting, ideally between 300 and 500 PAR. It requires strong, turbulent water flow to keep its polyps clean and deliver nutrients. Placement in the upper third of the aquarium is generally best to ensure it receives ample light and flow. Feeding is not strictly necessary as it primarily relies on photosynthesis, but supplemental feeding with fine coral foods can encourage faster growth. Maintain stable water parameters: Calcium 400-440 ppm, Alkalinity 8-9 dKH, and Magnesium 1300-1400 ppm. Ensure adequate spacing from other corals, especially aggressive LPS or soft corals, as Acropora can be sensitive to stinging.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
