Description
Description
This beautiful Acropora features a stunning blend of purple and blue hues, creating a vibrant focal point in any reef aquarium. Its intricate branching structure adds a dynamic architectural element to your aquascape, providing shelter and visual interest for your other inhabitants. Each polyp is extended, showcasing the coral's health and vitality. This specific piece is approximately 3 inches across and fully encrusted on its frag plug. This exact coral is what you will receive.
Acropora corals thrive under high PAR (photosynthetically active radiation) levels, typically between 250-400 PAR, requiring strong lighting to maintain their coloration and growth. Provide strong, turbulent flow to prevent detritus buildup and ensure nutrient delivery to the coral polyps. Ideal placement is in the upper to middle sections of the tank, securely attached to rockwork where it can receive ample light and flow. Its growth pattern is typically branching, and it can grow quite large over time with proper care.
While primarily photosynthetic, Acropora can benefit from supplemental feeding with fine-grained coral foods or phytoplankton a few times a week, especially in a nutrient-poor system. Maintain stable water parameters: temperature 75-79F, salinity 1.025-1.026, alkalinity 8-9 dKH, calcium 400-450 ppm, and magnesium 1300-1350 ppm. Consistent and stable water chemistry is crucial for success with Acropora.
Acropora are generally considered aggressive corals due to their rapid growth and potential to shade out neighboring corals. Provide ample spacing from other corals to prevent competition for light and growth. Acclimate this coral slowly using a drip acclimation method over at least 30-60 minutes to minimize stress during the transition to your aquarium. Once acclimated, avoid moving it frequently to allow it to establish itself in its new environment.
Adding this Purple Acropora to your reef tank will elevate the aesthetic appeal and biodiversity of your aquatic display. Its captivating colors and complex structure make it a prized specimen for any experienced reef keeper. With consistent care and a healthy environment, this Acropora will flourish and become a centerpiece of your underwater landscape.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
