Description

This beautiful Rainbow Lobophyllia features a vibrant display of colors, often showcasing a mix of blues, greens, yellows, and reds. Its striking appearance makes it a standout piece in any reef aquarium. The coral forms a robust, fleshy colony with distinct, wavy polyps that create an intricate and attractive textured surface. Each polyp usually has a singular mouth, though some may exhibit multiple mouths.

Lobophyllia corals thrive in moderate PAR levels, ideally between 75-150. Too much light can cause bleaching, while too little can lead to a dull appearance. They prefer moderate, indirect flow to keep detritus from settling on their polyps without causing tissue damage. Placement on the bottom or middle of the aquarium rockwork is generally suitable. They are primarily photosynthetic but will benefit from supplemental feeding of meaty foods like mysis shrimp or brine shrimp a few times a week, especially smaller pieces. Maintain stable water parameters: Temperature 72-78F, Salinity 1.024-1.026, Alkalinity 8-12 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, Magnesium 1250-1350 ppm, Nitrates <10 ppm, Phosphates <0.10 ppm.

Lobophyllia corals are generally considered semi-aggressive. They possess sweeper tentacles that can extend at night and sting nearby corals. It is important to provide adequate space between them and other corals to prevent damage. Acclimation should be done slowly, using a drip method over several hours to allow the coral to adjust to your tank's water parameters. Observe the coral for signs of stress during and after acclimation.

Adding a Rainbow Lobophyllia to your reef tank provides a captivating focal point with its dynamic coloration and unique structure. It is a relatively hardy LPS coral, suitable for both experienced hobbyists and those looking to add a truly spectacular piece to their collection. With proper care and placement, this coral will flourish, bringing a touch of the ocean's vibrant artistry into your home aquarium.

Please note: This is not a WYSIWYG item. You will receive a coral of the same species and similar quality, but the exact specimen may vary.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
