Platinum Storm Clownfish

The Platinum Storm Clownfish is a premium designer clownfish that combines extensive platinum-white colouring with irregular storm-style patterning and contrasting darker or orange accents. A selectively bred form of Amphiprion ocellaris, it has a clean, high-impact appearance that is noticeably different from more traditional clownfish varieties. Its unique pattern, compact size and strong personality make the Platinum Storm Clownfish an outstanding choice for established reef aquariums and marine displays in New Zealand.

Platinum Storm Clownfish are generally easy to moderate to care for once properly acclimated and are suitable for reef and fish-only saltwater aquariums. Adults usually reach around 8–11 cm and should be maintained in stable marine conditions around 24–27°C with a specific gravity of 1.023–1.026. They may be kept singly or as a compatible pair and do not require a host anemone. As with other Ocellaris clownfish, established individuals may become territorial around a chosen area, particularly when forming a pair.

A varied omnivorous diet is recommended, including quality marine pellets or flakes, frozen mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp and other appropriately sized marine foods. Good feeding and stable water quality help support healthy growth, strong condition and attractive colour development. Platinum coverage, storm markings and contrasting colour vary substantially between individual fish, so each Platinum Storm Clownfish is genuinely unique and may differ from representative images.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
