Description

This beautiful Purple Acropora showcases stunning purple coloration with bright white growth tips, forming intricate branching structures that add a dynamic element to any reef aquarium. Its delicate polyps extend to filter feed and contribute to its vibrant appearance. A truly captivating coral, it brings both elegance and a touch of the wild ocean to your home.

Acropora thrive under high PAR (300-450) lighting, so powerful LEDs or T5s are recommended. They require very strong, turbulent water flow to prevent detritus buildup and ensure proper nutrient exchange. Ideal placement is in the upper areas of the tank on stable rockwork, where it can receive ample light and flow. While primarily photosynthetic, supplemental feeding with fine coral foods or phytoplankton can encourage faster growth and better coloration. Keep stable water parameters: Temperature 76-79°F, Salinity 1.025-1.026, Alkalinity 8-9 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, Magnesium 1300-1400 ppm.

Acropora are generally peaceful but can be stung by aggressive corals if placed too close. Provide adequate spacing from other corals to prevent chemical warfare. Acclimation should be slow and steady, typically using a drip acclimation method over several hours to minimize stress. Monitor for signs of stress or tissue loss during the first few weeks.

Adding a Purple Acropora to your reef tank provides a challenging yet rewarding experience for the dedicated hobbyist. Its rapid growth under optimal conditions and striking coloration make it a centerpiece coral, enhancing the overall biodiversity and aesthetic appeal of your aquatic environment. The intricate branches create excellent hiding spots for small fish and invertebrates, contributing to a thriving ecosystem.

Please note: This is not a WYSIWYG item. You will receive a coral of the same species and similar quality, but the exact specimen and colour may vary.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
