Description

Frammer corals are a popular hybrid in the reef aquarium hobby, combining traits from Frogspawn (Fimbriaphyllia paradivisa) and Hammer (Fimbriaphyllia ancora) corals. This particular variety presents with a deep purple colouration, offering a nice contrast to the more common green and brown Euphyllia species. Its unique appearance makes it a standout piece in an LPS-focused collection.

The structure of a Frammer is where its hybrid origin really shows. It has the branching skeletal base and elongated tentacles of a Frogspawn, but the tips are shaped like small hammers, or sometimes a mix of hammers and knobs. This specimen features rich purple tentacles that gently sway in the current. The polyps extend well during the day, creating a soft, dynamic presence in the aquarium.

For best results, place your Frammer coral in the lower to middle sections of the tank under moderate lighting, somewhere in the 100 to 150 PAR range. It prefers low to moderate indirect water flow, just enough to make the tentacles undulate without being constantly pushed back against the skeleton. While largely photosynthetic, it will benefit from occasional target feeding with small meaty foods like mysis or calanus. A slow drip acclimation is recommended.

Like other Euphyllia, the Frammer is aggressive and can extend sweeper tentacles at night, so leave a good 10-15 cm of space between it and its neighbours to avoid stinging battles. Stable water parameters are key for long-term health. We recommend maintaining calcium around 420โ€“440 ppm, alkalinity at 8โ€“9 dKH, and magnesium between 1300โ€“1400 ppm in a system with stable salinity.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.

Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
