Description
Description
This Purple Goniopora features long, flowing polyps that create a dynamic and mesmerizing display in any reef aquarium. Its vibrant purple coloration adds a striking visual element, making it a focal point in your aquascape. Each polyp extends to reveal a delicate, flower-like crown, swaying gracefully with the water movement.
Goniopora corals thrive under moderate PAR levels, typically between 100-200. We recommend moderate, indirect water flow to encourage full polyp extension without causing damage. Ideal placement is on the sandbed or lower rockwork, ensuring it has ample space to expand. While photosynthetic, supplemental feeding with phytoplankton or other coral foods once or twice a week is highly beneficial for optimal health and growth. Maintain stable water parameters: temperature around 75-78°F, salinity 1.025-1.026, alkalinity 8-12 dKH, calcium 400-450 ppm, and magnesium 1300-1350 ppm. Goniopora can be aggressive, so provide adequate spacing from other corals to prevent stinging. Acclimate slowly using a drip acclimation method for best results.
This coral adds incredible movement and rich color to your reef tank. Its unique polyp structure makes it a captivating specimen that draws the eye. With proper care, this Purple Goniopora will flourish, transforming a section of your tank into a vibrant underwater garden. Its relatively straightforward care requirements make it a rewarding addition for both experienced and intermediate reef keepers.
Providing a stable environment with consistent water quality is key to the long-term success of your Goniopora. Regular water changes and monitoring of parameters are essential. Pay close attention to polyp extension as an indicator of its health and adjust flow or feeding as needed. This Purple Goniopora is an excellent choice for those looking to add a truly beautiful and interactive coral to their collection.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
