Description

This striking purple Nasuta coral is a beautiful addition to any reef aquarium. Its delicate, branching structure is covered in vibrant purple polyps that extend to create a fuzzy appearance, adding texture and movement to your tank. Each branch gradually tapers, giving the coral a graceful and intricate form that stands out against other corals.

To ensure optimal color and growth, the Purple Nasuta requires high PAR lighting, ideally between 250-400 PAR. It thrives with strong, irregular water flow that provides both nutrients and waste removal without directly blasting the coral. Place it in the upper to middle sections of your aquascape where it can receive ample light and flow. This particular Acropora species is a demanding SPS coral, best suited for experienced reef keepers.

Providing proper water parameters is crucial for the Purple Nasuta. Maintain stable levels of alkalinity (8-9 dKH), calcium (400-450 ppm), and magnesium (1300-1350 ppm). Keep nitrates low (below 10 ppm) and phosphates near undetectable levels (0.02-0.08 ppm). While primarily photosynthetic, supplemental feeding with fine particulate foods designed for SPS corals can enhance growth and color. It is a peaceful coral but should be given adequate space to prevent stinging from more aggressive neighbors.

Acclimation should be slow and gradual using a drip acclimation method over several hours to minimize stress. Lighting should also be ramped up slowly over several weeks to allow the coral to adjust to your tank's specific light intensity. Once settled, this coral will reward you with its stunning coloration and intricate structure, becoming a focal point in your reef.

The Purple Nasuta is an exquisite coral that brings a splash of vivid color and complex structure to your reef. Its intricate branches and fuzzy polyps create a captivating display, making it a highly desirable piece for dedicated hobbyists. With proper care, this coral will flourish, adding spectacular beauty and a natural reef aesthetic to your aquatic environment.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
