Description
Description
The Purple and Peach Tip Magnificent Anemone (Heteractis magnifica) is a real standout, with rich purple colouring complemented by soft peach-toned tentacle tips. As its tentacles move with the flow, the contrasting colours make it a striking focal point in a mature reef aquarium.
Like other Magnificent Anemones, this species needs a stable, well-established saltwater aquarium with strong lighting and good, varied water movement. It often settles high on the rockwork but may wander while choosing its preferred spot. Give it generous space away from neighbouring corals and make sure powerhead and pump intakes are protected.
This is an anemone for experienced marine aquarists, not a beginner species. It can become quite large and needs consistent water quality to do well over the long term. Its appearance may change slightly under different aquarium lighting or as the tentacles expand and contract.
Approx 20cm across
Available from EasternMarine Aquariums in Auckland, New Zealand. Feel free to contact us if you'd like advice on keeping a Magnificent Anemone in your reef tank.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
